	AT A GLANCE: A life long resident of Fort Mill, Sabrina received her nursing degree from Clemson University, worked as a nurse in a level one trauma center, and has over 15 years of nursing experience. She worked to create the only Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program in South Carolina based in a law enforcement office. She quickly gained respect as an expert in caring for victims of violence and was asked to teach forensic techniques to other healthcare professionals in the surrounding areas.	Member South Carolina Coroner's Association
Appointed Coroner of York County by Governor Mark Sanford in September of 2006, she continues to serve in this office bringing compassion and integrity to the public that she serves.

Qualified as an expert witness in York County as a Nurse, Forensic Nurse, and as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner
Reduced the 2007 budget for the coroner's office
Updated policy and procedure manual
Created a secure and accountable location for personal belongings and evidence collected by the coroner's office
Participate in the "Alive at 25" education program through the SC National Safety Council
Joined the "All on Aboard" board in York County

Lifelong resident of Fort Mill, SC Married to John for 16 years. John is a Vice President with Williams Engineering in Rock Hill, SC Two children: Josh, 11 and Jordan, 9. Both attend school in the Fort Mill School District

Goals

Create a referral network for family members in need of support and counseling
Ensure the staff attends training to maintain competency and improve upon the investigative abilities of the office
Increase community education events in an effort to be proactive to prevent accidental deaths in York County

Job Duties
Among the Coroner's responsibilities: Investigating any death when it results from violence, is an apparent suicide, is a suspicious or unusual manner, is unattended by a physician when it occurs in apparent good health Notifying next-of-kin.
